Gov. Kathy Hochul is putting pressure on Northrop Grumman to clean up Bethpage Community Park.

The New York governor wants the company to move all contaminated soil on the park's baseball field to an offside facility rather than using that dirt as backfill in some areas.

Hochul also wants Northrop Grumman to develop a schedule for cleanup and face penalties if it does not stick to it.

Northrop Grumman has not yet commented.

The call for change comes days after six chemical drums were found buried 7 feet below the field.
