The Cause Café in Fort Salonga hosted a homecoming celebration for Northport resident and gold medal Paralympian Mikey Brannigan Friday.
Brannigan, who is autistic, was on top of the podium in Rio after finishing the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:51.73.
The gold medalist addressed the crowd at the café, saying that he was proud to spread autism awareness and overcome challenges.
Cause Café is a French-themed bistro that employs special-need individuals as a way of acquiring needed life skills.
