? Authorities say a pet goat named ?Teddy? was found strangled to death with a belt around its neck Friday.
Investigators say the goat was stolen from Raleigh?s Farm on Old Indian Head Road in King?s Park on Sunday. The family says whoever stole the goats likely entered the farm by climbing over a wall. A second goat is still missing.
Members of the Raleigh family say they are devastated and hope the other goat is alive.
The family also says nothing like this has happened on the farm in the last 50 years. The Raleighs are considering installing security devices to prevent anything similar from happening again.
A $1,000 reward is being offered to anyone with information on the case. They can call 631-382-SPCA. If convicted on animal cruelty charges, those involved could face up to two years behind bars.
