The head coach of the No. 1 college football team in the country, the Georgia Bulldogs, took a helicopter to Holy Trinity High School for a recruiting trip.
Kirby Smart’s helicopter landed on the Hicksville school’s football field just before 10 a.m. Friday.
Due to NCAA rules, the coach was prohibited from having any direct interaction with players. However, he offered a scholarship to standout junior Josiah Brown.
“It's great,” he said. “Plenty of great athletes to come out of Long Island but to be the first one to do this at this specific school, it means a lot to me.”
Brown says he currently has 21 offers and cannot officially choose a school until next fall.
