A homeless man was arraigned and charged today in connection to a series of bank robberies.

Officials say 54-year-old George Swanton is responsible for three bank robberies in the past week.

The latest robbery occurred at a Chase Bank in Babylon. Police say Swanton approached the teller, stated he had a gun and demanded cash.

The suspect fled the scene, but police say they arrested him 20 minutes later.

Authorities say Swanton also robbed a Citibank in Brentwood and a Bank of America in West Islip.

Swanton has been charged with resisting arrest and numerous counts of robbery.
