If you're filling up this morning, you might notice those prices are creeping up once again.
Normally, gas prices in January are lower, but that's not the case this year.
Experts say it's all because of supply and demand within the oil industry.
According to AAA, the national average is sitting at $3.51 a gallon.
In New York, the average is $3.57 and on Long Island it is $3.51.
The number is 9 cents higher than it was last week and 31 cents higher than it was a month ago.
