A Garden City man is accused of intentionally backing his SUV into several people in North Bellmore Wednesday following a dispute.
Police say 31-year-old Joseph Cassidy rammed his Lincoln Navigator into four members of the same family and their neighbor.
According to police, Cassidy had argued with a 26-year-old male member of the family. After the dispute, Cassidy got into his car and, with the driver's door open, put the vehicle in reverse. In the process, he hit the man's brother, father, mother, 86-year-old grandfather and neighbor. When Cassidy shifted the truck into drive to leave, police say he hit the man's mother again, breaking her leg.
The victims were taken to Nassau University Medical Center. Police say the injuries were not life threatening. Cassidy is being arraigned Thursday for assault.
