And another storm watch update that we have going on for us just a reminder. So we have a flood watch in effect through one pm Monday for all of Long Island and on top of it, we have a high wind warning in effect for Suffolk County until we get into about 11 a.m. for Monday. Now, we could be seeing wind gusts between 45 to 55 MPH, but some areas we can't even rule out reaching 60 MPH as in gusts as we get into the overnight. And for our early Monday morning, we are expecting wind speeds to be sustained between 25 to 35 MPH and just take a look at how things are as of right now, along much of the South shore, we are already starting to see some pretty strong winds around 33 MPH. Gusts for Oceanside, Farmingdale Islip and Shirley are still sustaining about 26 MPH winds and we are expecting those to strengthen as we get into the rest of tonight. But again, here's the storm system that's just really just been stalled out throughout much of the east coast continuing to pump in not only rain but strong winds across Long Island. Now, the good news is as of right now, we're not dealing with much in regards to rain, especially for the eastern side of what we have on Long Island, but we are expecting the rain to continue to build as we get into the next several hours. Especially once we get around 10 o'clock, we're looking for a bit more of that rain to not only just be lights but heavy rainfall from Glen Cove to Huntington and even for Hempstead. Now, from Nassau County over towards the western side of Suffolk County, we're looking at this to be a slow moving band of heavy rainfall that will continue to stretch its way across Long Island, which is why our concerns for flooding are mainly going to be overnight and into a very early Monday morning, which could again impact your Monday morning commute because we are gonna still see some heavy and even consistent rainfall throughout our early m Monday morning around sunrise. And even around seven o'clock, we're still dealing with a bit of some rain as well, but you could take notes that it's not only it's gonna be wet, but it also will be colder as temperatures will drop into the forties by sunrise. Now, gusting winds again, near 60 MPH are possible along the South shore and southern parts of Long Island and tomorrow though it's not gonna be 60 MPH. We're still gonna be dealing with strong winds and here's how much rain we could potentially see again. Close to three inches of rainfall is left for many areas, especially over towards Suffolk County. Once we're done with the rain colder for the week.

Garden City jockey celebrates Kentucky Derby win

Great story here. Now for you involves the Kentucky Derby. It's nicknamed the Run for the Roses. Well, Jockey Javier Castellano from Garden City has been part of that run many times, but Saturday, you finally got to smell the roses in the winner circle Kevin Maher. With this story, Javier Castellano was back on top of a horse at Belmont Park today and feeling like he was on top of something else. Much bigger. It means everything. I feel like I'm on the top of the world. That's because after 27 years and more than 5600 career wins, he finally won the big one, the Kentucky Derby in resonate and my background and this is it, they can talk. Here's Castellano was 0 to 15 in the derby but broke through leading ma a horse he'd ridden only once before through the pack for a thrilling down the stretch. Come from behind win. It is going to be to win the, was it like the seas parted for you? And you went, there's the finish line. Absolutely. That's exactly what I feel the finish line is. So a lot of far I knew in that moment. Ok. This is it. I think I can win. Castellano said winning the derby is like winning the Super Bowl and it means more handshakes and autographs back at Belmont his home course for more than 20 years. And fans here said watching him win the derby with ma was a major thrill. Absolutely fond of saying in a business filled with characters, Javier is an individual of character. It was exhilarating, it was jumping up and down, tears in your eyes, you know, nothing better. It took me a lot of years to get there and finally did. That's the best feeling when you work hard and to try to reach us something, you reach your goal and by winning the Kentucky Derby that eluded him for so long, Javier now becomes the only jockey this year with a chance to get something else.
