Some runners got their exercise in bright and early at Long Island's largest Thanksgiving Day race.
People of all ages took their marks at Saint Paul's School for the Garden City Turkey Trot.
This is the 48th year for the annual event.
The race benefits some important causes, including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Participants were also encouraged to bring non-perishable food items.
There were three races in total -- the Challenger Division Race for athletes with special needs, a 1.4 mile fun run, and a 5 mile run.
