While
restaurants and businesses on Long Island continue to fight stay open, the game
of golf has actually seen a bit of a resurgence during the pandemic.
Turns
out, while the pandemic was keeping everyone inside, local golf courses were
the perfect panacea. Acres of space and spaced out tee times.
Some courses saw even more
golfers during the pandemic then in previous years.
At the Town of Oyster Bay Golf Course, more than 33,000 rounds
were played, a 22% increase from last year and a 60% increase from two years
ago.
