The parents of Gabby Petito filed a motion Tuesday afternoon to add Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino as a defendant in their lawsuit filed earlier this year against Brian Laundrie's parents.
Joseph Petito and Nicole Schmidt, the parents of Blue Point native Gabby Petito, allege that Christopher and Roberta Laundrie knew that their son Brian Laundrie murdered their daughter, knew the location of her body and refused to provide any information.
A statement from Petito family attorney Patrick Reilly says that when the Laundries did speak, it was through statements issued by Bertolino.
The Petito family attorney also says they believe Bertolino knew Gabby Petito was dead, which led to the decision to add the Laundrie attorney as a defendant in the action.
Reilly's statement went on to say, "Joseph Petito and Nicole Schmidt are seeking justice and accountability for the loss of their daughter and the attendant harm caused them."
