A fundraiser was held in Farmingdale Saturday night to honor a Suffolk girl killed by a drunken driver just two days after her high school graduation.
As News 12 has reported, Brittney Walsh, of Lindenhurst, was killed in 2012 when Michael Grasing rear-ended her vehicle. His blood alcohol level was four times the legal limit.
Grasing was convicted of aggravated vehicular homicide earlier this year.
Walsh's friends and family hit the bowling lanes to raise money for the Brittney Walsh Memorial Fund. Her father Tom says the fund will provide three scholarships for high school seniors this year.
Tom Walsh says the nonprofit organization in his daughter's name has already doled about $10,000 in scholarships since its inception.
