Funding has been secured to bring clean drinking water to Manorville.
The project to improve water quality will connect two areas of the hamlet that rely on private wells to the Suffolk County Water Authority.
As News 12 has previously reported, 64 homes serviced by those wells are contaminated with forever chemicals, called PFAS, that are linked to cancer.
The last $2 million in grant money needed has been awarded by the state - about $2 million more was given to the Town of Brookhaven by the federal government last year.
The project has been in the making for four years.
