Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral Mass for Lt. Michael LiCalzi Saturday at St. Joseph?s church in Garden City. His family said the 24-year-old Marine was a hero. Friends remember him as honest, modest, diligent and a dedicated Marine. LiCalzi served in Iraq just over a year. Last week, he drowned there when his tank plunged into a canal. Lt. LiCalzi's body was laid to rest at Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn.
