Thousands braved the cold temperatures in Long Beach Sunday to take part in the 19th annual Super Bowl Splash.
The annual polar bear plunge raises money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Participants of all ages stripped down to their bathing suits and made a mad dash into the bone-chilling ocean water.
The event has raised millions of dollars for the foundation over the years, according to organizer Jack Ferrante.
"Last year, they raised $560,000. I believe in the past 17 to 18 years, this is probably going to be over $6 million. It’s a phenomenal organization,” he says.
