Freeport man arrested for allegedly setting house, 2 cars on fire in Rockville Centre

Police say two people were woken up by a loud bang and looked outside to find both their cars on fire. When they went to run outside, their front door was also on fire.

A Freeport man is accused of setting two cars and a house on fire Tuesday in Rockville Centre.
Police say it happened at around 5 a.m. on North Forest Avenue.
They say two people were woken up by a loud bang and looked outside to find both their cars on fire. When they went to run outside, their front door was also on fire.
An Arson Bomb Squad investigation led to the arrest of John Cortien.
Cortien will face a judge on Wednesday.
