Freeport High School students had an out-of-this-world experience Tuesday.
They got to speak with the scientist and lead investigator behind NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) mission.
Dr. Andrew Rivkin spoke with the students on a Zoom call about the mission.
The mission saw NASA successfully crash an object into an asteroid to see if it could redirect its course and prevent future asteroids from threatening Earth.
Four students were also able to present their analysis of the DART mission to Dr. Rivkin.
