Police in Garden City say they arrested several teens from Franklin Square in connection with a case of arson at the Garden City Country Club.
Three of the suspects have been identified as 17-year-old Qasim Fnu, 17-year-old Anthony Delgado, and Spencer Farrell, whose age wasn't included in a police release about the case. A fourth teen was arrested, but was not identified because he is a juvenile.
Police say the teens were at the club on Stewart Avenue on the night of Sept. 3. They allegedly removed fire extinguishers and sprayed them in the air, and damaged a tennis net and light fixtures.
A few days later, on Sept. 8, the teens allegedly started an electrical fire in an irrigation box at the club, causing significant damage to the wires and surrounding area, according to police.
Police say the total damages amounted to more than $10,000.
The teens were arrested on Sept. 9 without incident.
Fnu and Farrell are charged with second- and third-degree criminal mischief, criminal trespass, and fifth-degree arson. Delgado is charged with third-degree criminal mischief. The unidentified juvenile is charged with second-degree criminal mischief, criminal trespass and fifth-degree arson.
