Some Morris Heights renters are getting a million-dollar makeover for their building at no cost, thanks to a former Mets player.
Mo Vaughn, who was a first baseman, purchased the two-building apartment complex along with Eugene Schneur. The owners are installing new cabinets, and a high-tech security system, painting and making other improvements. The renovations should be completed by December. Vaughn says it?s his way of giving back to the community.
Residents welcome the change in management, saying they were without hot water and had holes in their ceilings and walls for months.
