A once prominent Suffolk County politician is adjusting to life as a prison inmate.
Former Islip Town Supervisor Pete McGowan is serving a 90-day sentence in a Yaphank minimum-security facility after being convicted of grand larceny and bribery. Prison officials describe McGowan as polite and quiet. They say he works hard and doesn?t complain.
McGowan is scheduled to be released from jail to serve out his probation on July 7.
