Former Bridgeport state Sen. Dennis Bradley asked a federal judge to dismiss all six counts of conspiracy and wire fraud against him, according to court filings.
Prosecutors claim Bradley defrauded Connecticut's public campaign financing program of $84,000 in matching funds during his 2018 campaign.
Bradley argues the federal government lacks jurisdiction over the case.
Last week, his former campaign treasurer pleaded guilty to lying to a grand jury.
