Forecast: Periods of rain today with cooler temps and breezy conditions

Long Island is in for a gloomy Sunday with cloudy skies, cooler temps and periods of rain. 
News 12 meteorologists say the rainfall will be on and off, and steady at times, through Sunday afternoon. Roadside ponding is possible by the afternoon and evening.
Temperatures today are only topping out in the low- to mid-70s, with a brisk breeze. Winds are NE at 10-20 mph.
 
 
There's also a high risk of rip currents at South Shore beaches today.
Tonight, expect cloudy skies with showers continuing through around midnight, then gradually tapering off. It'll be cool and breezy with temps in the low- to mid-60s.
Any lingering sprinkles on Monday morning will end, leaving partly cloudy skies. The day will see highs in the mid-70s.
It's warmer for Tuesday and Wednesday, which will see a return to highs in the 80s with mostly sunny skies.
