There's a new effort this Halloween to make the holiday a little less scary for kids with allergies.
The Teal Pumpkin Project aims to help kids with food allergies trick-or-treat safely.
The campaign encourages people to raise awareness of food allergies by providing non-food treats for trick-or-treaters. Organizers encourage participants to paint a pumpkin teal, the color of food allergy awareness, to place in front of their house along with a free printable sign to indicate they have non-food treats available.
It's designed to promote inclusion and respect for all trick-or-treaters.
