The civil lawsuit filed against Brian Laundrie's parents by Gabby Petito's family will proceed to a jury trial.

A Florida judge sided with the Blue Point native's parents Thursday.

Petito's family claim that the Laundries knew the location of Gabby's remains and helped their son cover up her death.

The Laundrie family has called the suit baseless.

Gabby Petito's body was found in a Wyoming national park last summer. Brian Laundrie's body was found a few months later in a Florida preserve with a notebook saying he killed her.

The FBI says Brian Laundrie died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
