Hundreds of travelers have been flying into MacArthur Airport from Florida all week ahead of Hurricane Irma.
Among the arrivals are many native Long Islanders, along with evacuated Florida residents who have family in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
And Long Islanders who had to cut short their vacations because of the storm are also returning home.
Officials say nearly 7 million people in multiple southeastern states have been asked to evacuate ahead of Irma, which is expected to make landfall in Florida Sunday.
Some of the last flights to depart Florida were arriving at MacArthur Airport on Saturday.
More than 4,600 flights in the storm's path have been canceled and the number is expected to soar, according to tracking service FlightAware.com.
