Some South Shore communities were dealing with flooding Monday.
Coastal flood warnings and advisories were posted for parts of the Island.
The flooding began early this morning in places like Lindenhurst, Sayville and Mastic Beach. In Nassau, parts of Freeport were submerged.
On Venetian Boulevard in Lindenhurst, the water crossed over from the canal and made it all the way across the street.
And the Wantagh Fire Department's dive team responded after a boat capsized in Zach's Bay. It is believed that no one was on board at the time.
Most of the flooding has subsided for now, but there could be more around times of high tide. And as Hurricane Florence churns in the Atlantic Ocean, News 12 meteorologists say Long Island could see coastal flooding, rough surf and beach erosion later this week.
