Drivers faced a wet and slushy commute Tuesday night after Long Island was hit with a wintry mix of weather
Starting in the afternoon, between 1 and 3 inches of snow fell across Long Island Tuesday with snowfall picking up into the evening.
?I like it,? said Mary Lou Dupree, of Hicksville, of the first snow of the season. ?It?s like [a] winter wonderland, especially right before the holidays.?
Drivers are being urged to use caution and watch for black ice and wet roads as the snow turns to rain.
