The $19 billion transformation of John F. Kennedy International Airport hit a milestone Tuesday with the completion of Terminal 8 transformation, capped by the unveiling of a new $125 million commercial program.
Announced by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and its partners, the redevelopment makes Terminal 8 the first fully completed terminal under JFK’s sweeping overhaul.
The Port Authority says there are over 60 new restaurants and shops, along with more luxury shopping options.
The commercial redesign follows a $400 million expansion completed in 2022 by American Airlines, which added five widebody gates, four widebody parking positions, an upgraded baggage system and 130,000 square feet of new and renovated space.
