First-degree murder among charges faced by Glen Cove man accused of killing neighbor

Charges were upgraded Thursday against the Glen Cove man accused of dismembering his neighbor.Evan Marshall, 31, is accused of breaking into 57-year-old retired teacher Denise Fox?s home and killing her.

Charges were upgraded Thursday against the Glen Cove man accused of dismembering his neighbor.Evan Marshall, 31, is accused of breaking into 57-year-old retired teacher Denise Fox?s home and killing her. Marshall was originally going to be charged with second-degree murder. However, prosecutors say he allegedly committed the murder while committing another felony -- burglary. He was indicted on the count of first-degree murder, which carries a sentence of life without parole. Marshall was also charged with assault for an unrelated hit-and-run in Glen Cove that occurred just hours before the murder. The woman was hospitalized, but her injuries were not life-threatening. Marshall is being held at the Nassau County Jail without bond.Related Information:
