New Jersey feels the brunt of yet another bitter outbreak. Cold weather advisories have been issued for most of the state for the overnight and lingering into late Monday morning. The air temperature will be in the single digits. The winds will be gusty. and it will feel painfully cold even when you are dressed and prepared for the cold.
This punishing cold will be with us for the week. Temperatures don't look to get passed 30 degrees for afternoon highs. (Normal is 40 degrees) This would be the first time since 2018 that we had a stretch of weather go five days where the daily high did not get above 30 degrees.
Overall, this week fairly quiet weather wise. there may be a few passing snow flurries tomorrow early in the afternoon adding a fresh sugar coating to the snowpack for yesterday's storm. The cold is going to be the big story this week.
The News 12 Storm Watch team has seen the model guidance and is aware of the possibility of another storm this weekend. It is still too far in the meteorological future to have an accurate insight on if or not the storm will have any impact on the area. Will monitor each model run. We will watch how the storm would be evolving and compare to how it matches up with current atmospheric conditions. All I can say right now is stay tuned.
