Firefighters are still battling smoldering hot spots at a Brentwood recycling plant after a fire burned overnight.

Police say garbage inside the Emjay Boulevard facility burst into flames at around 2 a.m. Tuesday, prompting a response from 30 local fire stations.

An Islip town worker and a firefighter both suffered minor injuries.

An investigation into what caused the blaze is ongoing.
