A fire broke out at a community center in North Massapequa Monday, but crews quickly contained the damage.
The center, located at North Albany Avenue off of Broadway, is right down the street from the nearest firehouse.
Firefighters hastily put out the flames. There were no people inside the building, according to officials.
There is no word on how the fire started, but officials hinted that it may be related to a heating and air conditioning unit.
