Multiple homes were evacuated Friday when a gas line was struck during construction in Huntington, fire officials say.
Huntington firefighters and National Grid responded to the scene on the corner of Park Avenue and Mill Lane around 1:15 p.m.
The Huntington Fire Department says 10 to 15 homes were evacuated for around two hours as crews worked on the repairs.
The gas line was repaired before 4 p.m., and those evacuated were able to return to their homes.
