The Fire Island Lighthouse will once again be open to the public.
The Long Island landmark was closed for three weeks as crews conducted structural testing.
Officials were looking at the toll that weather and time have taken on the lighthouse's brick exterior.
Monitoring devices have been installed so analysts can keep track of any movement in the tower, as well as humidity, temperature and moisture levels.
