Flames and smoke poured out of a home Sunday afternoon in Hicksville, leaving four people displaced.

It happened around 2:27 p.m. on Elliot Drive, according to the Bethpage Fire Department.

Four occupants self-evacuated the home unharmed. No injuries have been reported.

The fire was brought under control within about 30 minutes, according to fire officials.

The Red Cross was notified to assist the occupants. The Bethpage Fire Department was assisted by the Hicksville, Wantagh and Levittown fire departments.

It is unclear what caused the fire.
