A sinkhole that opened on Lido Boulevard in Lido Beach Wednesday is causing traffic in the area.
The sinkhole is right before Lido turns into Long Beach, about a mile from the Loop Parkway.
Chris Boyle, a spokesperson for Nassau County, says the Department of Public Works is aware of a sewer collapse on Lido Beach Boulevard. He says that there have been no reported injuries.
"We have been in contact with Veolia, who manages the county's sewers, and it already has a crew on scene working to remedy the situation," says Boyle.
Chief Bill Wade, of the Point Lookout-Lido Fire Department, says it could take around two weeks before the repairs are finished.
Nassau police have put out a traffic advisory, asking people to avoid the area.
