Fire breaks out at Hauppauge commercial building

Suffolk police said the building on Newton Place caught fire just after 5 p.m.

A fire erupted early Saturday evening at a commercial building in Hauppauge.
Suffolk police said the building on Newton Place caught fire just after 5 p.m.
Firefighters used electric saws to cut into a garage. Once they managed to open it, smoke just poured out of the garage.
Fire officials said a total of eight departments responded.
The building is home to a construction and welding company.
There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation as of Saturday night.
