Fighter jets escort small plane to MacArthur Airport
Fighter jets scrambled to escort a small plane to MacArthur Airport yesterday after flying through restricted airspace.
The plane was escorted around 7 p.m. last night. Police say the plane was flying into a restricted zone blocked for the president's visit to Connecticut.
News 12 Long Island was flooded with calls from viewers reporting the plane had been flying very close to the ground. Fighter jets also intercepted a second plane a half an hour later over New Haven for the same reason. Both pilots cooperated and landed safely.
