FDNY firefighter, Joseph Herman, of Long Island was killed in a crash while operating his motorcycle on the Southern State Parkway.
The 36-year-old was with Ladder Company 111 and served the department for 10 years.
The FDNY Foundation has set up a scholarship fund for his daughter, Lacy.
Visitation services for Herman will be held on Friday at Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home in Seaford.
His funeral is set for Saturday at St. William the Abbot Church, and he will be laid to rest in Farmingdale.
