Dr. Anthony Fauci is warning that we still need to hunker down and avoid larger indoor gatherings to fend off a second wave of COVID-19.
"I just think we need to hunker down and get through this fall and winter," Fauci said Friday morning.
Several states have had a hard time getting the virus under control, but doctors on Long Island says we're doing it right and need to keep it up.
"Look at the numbers for Nassau and Suffolk county," says Dr. Andrew Patane, of NYU Langone Health. "We came down like this - exponentially. Long Island is arguably one of the best places to be in the country right now."
Patane says to continue avoiding large indoor gatherings, continue keeping distance and continue mask-wearing protocols.
Fauci also said life may not get back to the way it was before COVID-19 until the end of 2021.
