College students in Farmingdale took turns whacking an old car with a sledgehammer today, but it was for a good cause.
Members of Farmingdale State College's Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity held a "car smash" to raise money for Mothers Against Drunk Driving. They charged their peers per swing.
One student who took a turn with the hammer says it was a good way to vent some finals-week frustrations.
The fraternity hopes to raise $3,000 for the organization over the next three days.
