The family of a 5-year-old girl who was bitten in the face by a dog in a Bay Shore PETCO is considering filing suit against the store.
The girl was petting the dog, which belonged to a customer, Monday when it suddenly bit her lip. The girl?s mother says she has undergone surgery to repair the damage. An attorney for the family says while the store encourages customers to bring their pets in, they don?t check if the pet is dangerous.
A PETCO spokesperson says they have had few problems with animals since it opened in 1965. The company adds that they depend upon a customer?s judgment when it comes to their pets.
