Family members of the Deer Park girl killed in a boating accident last year introduced an invention to prevent similar tragedies. Brianna Lieneck was killed when two boats collided in the Great South Bay one year ago Thursday. Family, friends and Babylon officials gathered in Lindenhurst to remember the 11-year-old and introduce a new boat-lighting system. The system would allow vessels to cast a silhouette visible for up to a half mile. Town of Babylon Supervisor Steve Bellone said the town is going to install the lighting system on the town?s three bay constable boats.
