A Freeport family continues its search after their loved one went for a walk more than a week ago and never came home.
Slybourn Gilzean, a 73-year-old Jamaican immigrant, took daily walks along the Nautical Mile just blocks from where he lives, according to his family.
Gilzean?s family members say they are refusing to give up hope. Daughter Audrey says her father had poor eyesight and was considered legally blind. However, she does not believe it played a role in his disappearance. She says he could see well enough not to stumble over something if it was in his way.
Kingsley Wedderburn, Gilzean?s grandson, says it wasn?t like him to get up and leave. He fears something bad may have happened to his grandfather.
The family says it just wants Gilzean home for the holidays safe and sound.
Nassau police are asking anyone with information about the disappearance to call their missing persons division at 516-573-7347.
