Police: 8-year-old boy grazed by gunfire in Medford; victim’s sister says about 7 to 8 gunshots were fired

Police say they responded to a report of an injured person on Cedar Lane around 1:35 a.m.

Police say an 8-year-old boy was injured in a shooting in Medford.

According to police, the incident happened around 1:35 a.m. on Cedar Lane.

Police say several gunshots were fired from the street into the residence. One of the bullets grazed the boy inside.

The victim’s sister says about seven to eight gunshots were fired and the victim and his cousin were sleeping on the main floor in the living room when he was grazed by gunfire.

“My brother was holding onto his side and saying ouch,” the victim’s sister said.

The boy was transported to the hospital and treated for minor injuries.
