Saturday’s expected rain doesn’t bode well for many businesses on the East End, which relies on fall weekend visitors.

Business has already been disrupted by consistent weekend rain.

Harbes Family Farm in Mattituck is busiest in the fall. Employee Dawn Zurek says the soggy weather has made business a lot slower. She said, “It’s really kind of put a damper on our busy season.”

For many vineyards, a large portion of the seating is outdoors, including at Paumanok Vineyards in Aquebogue.

Winemaker Kareem Massoud said he’s seen some loss of business but has still been busy.

He’s taking the weather in stride, telling News 12 that at the family-owned vineyard, they’re accustomed “to being partners with Mother Nature,” as his father says, although they’re “the junior partner.”

Massoud said you just “have to roll with it.”
