A former Long Beach High School janitor pleaded not guilty at arraignment Sunday for allegedly spying on girls in the locker room.Police arrested 33-year-old John Daly, who faces three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, at his Long Beach home over the weekend. Authorities say three girls, ages 10 to 12, who were at the school for a swim meet, noticed Daly watching them undress from a hallway in the locker room.
The incident has some parents very upset. "I think that's pretty horrible, pretty horrible. You send your child to school to be safe and with everything that's going on, school is obviously not a safe community anymore," said Barbara Merman, whose daughter attends the high school.
The school district told News 12 Long Island it decided to terminate Daly after investigators contacted administrators.
Daly is due back in court Wednesday, April 25. He's being held on $10,000 bond.
