A former BOCES mechanic is suing over claims he was fired after being sexually harassed by his female boss.
Robert Inchierchiro, a 53-year-old divorced father of two, is suing Nassau BOCES and former boss Lisa Rice.
The lawsuit centers on an alleged incident outside of work. Inchierchiro claims Rice told him she was going to take him to a work-related dinner and dance cruise, but then canceled. He went anyway, and claims he was yelled at for going without her.
Last month, Inchierchiro sent a formal complaint to BOCES claiming sexual harassment. He says the claims weren't properly investigated and that the school fired him within days.
"I'm upset about it," he says. "I'm upset about the whole situation."
Inchierchiro admits nothing sexually inappropriate was ever said to him and that he never felt threatened in the four years he worked for BOCES. The school told News 12 Long Island it was unaware of any lawsuit until today and had no comment.
It's not clear if Inchierchiro hopes to get his job back by filing the suit.
Inchierchiro says he used to socialize with the boss he's suing and her husband outside of work.
