A Glen Cove woman is going the extra mile to raise awareness about the sacrifices made by American soldiers.
Eva Casale is planning to run seven marathons in seven days to honor fallen soldiers.
She is set to begin running the first 26.2-mile marathon on April 2.
Each marathon will honor one of Suffolk County's fallen heroes lost in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003.
"We are reaching out to these families and we are letting them know, with their permission of course, that we are running past their house, their high school and past some of the other special places they have in their heart for their child," she says.
The money raised will go toward the organization Hope for Warriors.
Each race will begin and end at a Suffolk Federal Credit Union. Casale says people who run the last seven miles with her and make a $50 donation will receive a medal.
In 2014, Eva ran seven marathons in seven days. Last year, she ran 150 miles from Manhattan to Montauk to raise money in the war against cancer.
