High-end gyms Equinox and Soul Cycle announced that they will be requiring proof of vaccination at their clubs.

The gyms will require members and staff to show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination come September.

The company that owns the clubs says the vaccination requirement will start in New York City clubs first and then roll out to its other locations, including those on Long Island.

Some club members were in favor of the decision.

"It's your choice obviously to not get vaccinated but then maybe don't come to the club," says Nina Kalata, of Huntington. "I've been holding my vaccination card in my wallet since the day I got it, ready to show it. So, I think it's a good idea."

The company says it polled its members and staff, and the vast majority said they would favor a vaccine requirement.
